There is a variety of different activities on the Island Venado, if you like nature, hiking, beautiful land scapes and just being outdoors, you will love this untouched vacation spot. This is the perfect place for the ecotourist. Personally, I`ve visited the island six times and there is something new to experience every time I go back, one of my favorite activities are the boat tours to the sourrounding islands. I've seen dolphins, iguanas, all kinds of different tropical birds, sea turtles, the list goes on. I think the best part about my trips to the island is that when I`m there I don`t feel like a tourist because the people make me feel so welcome. It's just a great place to really get to know rural community life of Costa Rica, and enjoy tropical nature at its best. Highly recommend on your list of things to see and do in Costa Rica.
