NEW RULES OF VISAS FOR NO RESIDENTS OF COSTA RICA
FOURTH GROUP
ADMITTED ONLY WITH RESTRICTED AND AUTHORIZED VISA BY GENERAL DIRECTOR OF MIGRATION AND ALIENAGE.

NOTE 1: The citizens of the countries located in the fourth group that show permanent residence with a noninferior use to six months in countries that form part of the European Union, the United States or Canada, will require solely consular visa to enter Costa Rica, and they will be consider as consular visas, in this case will be apply the norms established to the third group. In the cases in that the consul grants a visa by down this conditions, it will have to notify to the General Director of Migration and Alienage immediately. In addition, the consuls will have to verify with the migratory authorities in the country of their jurisdiction, the use of the legal permanence of those foreigners and the veracity of the documentation that credits the permanent residence with a noninferior use to six months. The breach of this rule will carry the responsibilities that article 16 of the General Law of Migration and Alienage determines.
The carrying nationals of Hong Kong of British passports for overseas citizens (British National Overseas/BN) that is effective, will receive the same treatment that the nationals of the first group of the present regulation, reason why will not require visa to enter the country and its permanence will be until by ninety days natural. The nationals of Hong Kong who do not carry the referred document of trip, yes will require restricted visa.
